Income tax

Income tax and take-home pay for salaried employees, country by country, for a named tax year.

Each page here covers one country's income tax on a salary for one named tax year, from the published rate schedules, and shows what reaches your bank account once the mandatory employee contributions are taken too. Unlike the rest of this section, these pages carry the statutory tables themselves, and every threshold, rate and deduction limit on them is cited to the tax authority or the law that sets it. That is also their limit. They cover a resident employee with salary income only: capital gains, business income, non-residents and anything decided by household circumstances the page does not ask about are outside them, and each page says what it leaves out. Tax rules change with every budget, so check the tax year on the page against the one you are filing for, and treat the result as an estimate to compare with your payslip, not as your return.
