Small business and investing

Evaluate project cash flows, returns, pricing margins and break-even volume from your own assumptions.

A business decision can look attractive under one measure and weak under another. ROI compares the gain with the original amount but ignores time; payback shows when cash is recovered but ignores everything after that point; NPV tests a forecast against a required return; and IRR finds the rate at which that same forecast breaks even in present-value terms. Margin, markup and break-even answer a different but connected question: whether the price of one product leaves enough contribution to cover fixed costs. These calculators keep every cost, price, rate and cash-flow estimate visible. They supply no market assumptions, tax treatment or recommendation, and they deliberately restrict project timelines to an initial outlay followed by non-negative annual benefits so a single IRR remains meaningful.
